( The name is 'text-message' for Pool Shark--to avoid disputes with existing names ) We are a small, independent pool service in Tampa, Florida that came up with an idea for a labor-saving set of sockets that finally got produced and launched into the tech sector of the pool industry. We started our humble, little pool cleaning service in 1994 out of the back of a battered '82 Honda Civic Hatchback and, well, as they say, the rest is history. Since the early days, we have branched out to provide a comprehensive array of pool and pool-related services. We call it the:

OKAY, SO WHAT THE HECK IS THIS MULTI-TORK THING?

Glad you asked. It was February, 2004 when Pwlshrk owner, Tal Millican, called up one of his customers and asked to meet with him about an idea that had been rolling around his brain for a couple of years. This customer's background is plastics manufacturing and Tal was pretty sure his idea should be produced from a strong, but lightweight polymer-based material.

"As it turns out...", said the customer, "... I'm meeting one of my fabricators from Tennessee for lunch here next month. Bring what you got and we'll sign a non-disclosure statement for you and take a look." And that's how Multi-Tork®, a new, innovative pool tool to save time, knuckles, backs, wrists and frustration, got its start.

As any inventor will tell you, coming up with the idea is the easy part. New products are rather like children: making them and naming them is the fun part; the rest is all hard, sometimes exasperating, expensive work. Multi-Tork is no exception. We've had our fair share of back-to-the-drawing board ( "WHAT were we thinking?! ) embarrassing, budget-busting, schedule-wrecking experiences. However, when Multi-Tork was finally introduced at the Florida Swimming Pool Association's annual trade show in Orlando, Florida in February, 2007 and we saw the amazed looks and smiles on so MANY pool techs' faces, we realized the past five years had been worth the "...blood, sweat, toil and tears...".

The Multi-Tork project could not have been pulled off by one person. Pwlshrk, Inc. owes an untold amount of gratitude to scores of women and men whose kindness, generosity and enthusiasm were absolutely essential to its success.
